William S. Stroud

William S. Stroud age 79 of Maryville died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Harbor View Hospital in Seattle, WA. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Maryville Kiwanis Club and the Blount County Boys and Girls Club. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in WW II. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and retired from ALCOA after 40 years of service as a Professional Engineer. Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Susan Olive Stroud and his sister, Helen Nelson. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Stroud; sister, Carol McGiboney of Covington, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sallie Stroud of Lenoir City, Eric and Kelly Stroud of Maryville, and Doug and Susan Stroud of Kingsport; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dave Parshall of the Philippines ; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A private family graveside service and entombment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
