Murphy, William "Dale" age 84 passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Asbury Place. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Preceded in death by: Parents, Azalea & Lee Murphy; Wife, Eva Long Murphy; Brothers, Archie Murphy, Garland Murphy; Sisters, Hollis Roberts, Margie Beaver, and Ella Long. Survivors include: Sons and Daughters-in-law, Robert & Cindy Murphy of Cleveland and Rev. Larry & Cathy Murphy of Michigan; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Sue & Mike Huffstetler of Greenback and Carolyn & Tom Cagley of Knoxville; Daughter, Judy Steffey of Johnson City; 13 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; Brother and Sister-in-law, Lawson & Willa Murphy of Hickory, NC; Sister, Zada Hammontree of Dallas TX; Special friend, Wilma Hipps of Maryville. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Townson- Rose Funeral Home, Murphy, N.C. with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 16, 2007 at Violet Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy, NC with Rev. Scott Huffstetler and Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating.
