William Leland Edington, Jr. age 88 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 on the family farm where he was born.

He was a member of Clover Hill Presbyterian Church, a Veteran of the United States Army, both active and reserve, and loved making walking canes for Veterans.

Bill "Channel 10," retired from ALCOA Aluminum Company and was an active member of the ALOCA retirees group. 

 He was raised into the Mason's Lodge 128 on June 26, 1959, and became a Master Mason. He joined the Eastern Star on August 27, 1960. He was a member of Camp Woodlee Alumni, the Blount County Beekeepers Association,  along with many other organizations. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lee and W.L. Edignton, Sr.

Bill is remembered by his wife, Glenda Edington; daughters Dara, Constance (Brian), Erica (Bill), Grace; granddaughters Ella, Ava, and Zoe.

 Family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Clover Hill Presbyterian Church. Memorial service will be at 1:00 PM with Roy Scarbrough officiating. Family and friends will assemble for inurnment at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Magnolia Cemetery.
