William “Bill” Ball age 66 passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Prisma Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from Blount County Sheriff's Office after over 25 years of service. Bill was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and an avid fisherman. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Preceded in death by: parents, Fred & Maxie Ball; brothers, Larry Ball & Garry Ball. Survivors include: wife, Linda (French) Ball; son, John Ball; daughter, Leigh Anne Ball; grandson; Jaylen Ball; sisters & brothers-in-law, Brenda & Eric Allison and Vivian “Toots” & Terry Satterfield; sisters-in-law, Donna Jenkins & husband Terry, Betty Kirkland, and Carol Hodge & husband Clifford; brother-in-law, John French & wife Jamie. A special thank you to Donna Sparks, Danny Stanton and Judge Headrick. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2026 at Smith Trinity Chapel.
