Celebration of Life
It is with great sadness that the family of Wes Montgomery announces his untimely passing on Sunday March 8, 2026, morning at the ripe old age of 50 years. Despite claims by his children that he fought in the Civil War, he was born in Athens, Tennessee on July 21, 1975. The great loves in his life were his family, friends, riding motorcycles, traveling to any mountain range, smoking meats, the United States Marine Corps, all of the Die Hard movies, and collecting “cool” …. all of it. He prided himself on his perfectly played out phone pranks. He loved living and doing ALL the things. He was a man of great faith and a large personality who loved to laugh and could tell a great story like it happened yesterday. To know him was to love him. He will be missed dearly. Until we meet again. Wes is reunited with: father, Daniel Vernon Montgomery. Survivors include: wife, Jenny; children, Macy, Jackson, Laney; mother, Betty Ann Montgomery; sister, Olivia Rivera & husband Iram & son Evan. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2026, at Smith Trinity Chapel. Celebration of life will be at 7:00 PM. Condolences may be shared at Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.SmithFuneralandCremation.com.
