Born October 26, 1943, Wendell answered the call to serve his country during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected the courage, honor, and sense of duty that would remain defining characteristics throughout his life. Beyond his service to his nation, Wendell was a man deeply devoted to his family. He was a loving uncle, and friend whose wisdom, humor, and steady presence touched countless lives. He enjoyed sharing stories, spending time with family, and offering encouragement and guidance to younger generations. He enjoyed woodworking, listening to classic rock and roll, science fiction, and building and repairing all types of things. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Doug will be remembered for his strong character, quiet resilience, and the love he freely gave to family and friends. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the lives he influenced.
