Wallace Jay Ogle

Wallace Jay Ogle, age 86, of Walland passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024. He was born on April 7, 1938 in Walland, Tennessee, the youngest child of Harrison and Hester Ogle. Wallace lived a life full of kindness, generosity, and compassion for others – never meeting a stranger and always finding time to talk.

Wallace worked in the insurance industry in Knoxville with J.E. Lutz & Company and later for Mowery Insurance. On the weekends, he could always be found at the family farm caring for the land he loved so dearly.

Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Hester Ogle, and his beloved brother, Gene Ogle. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret Cannon Ogle, his daughter, Debbie Ogle Ernsberger, special son-in-law Curtis Ernsberger, and the absolute joy of his life, grandsons Emmitt Harrison and Davis Cannon, and his dear sister-in-law, Doris Cannon Poppelreiter.

His family was his absolute world, and his legacy will continue to shine through his daughter and grandsons. His final years were spent at the family farm which brought a smile to his face each morning and every evening of the magic of God’s creation. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 23, 2024 at West Miller’s Cove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside services and interment with Rev.
