Tommy Everett Fortenberry, 80, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 at his home in Maryville. Tom was a devoted husband of 40-plus years, father and grandfather, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of Fairview Church in Maryville where he sang in the choir and with the Faithful Men. He particularly relished his time traveling to Latvia with the group.
Preceded in death by his parents, Paul Henry and Betty Jo Witt Fortenberry, and his brothers, Gary Fortenberry and Jack Fortenberry. Tom is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bernadette (Bunny) Fortenberry of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law Gina and Timmy Stephenson, Robyn and Dan Logan, and his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Caroline Fortenberry; grandchildren, Olivia Stephenson, Lila Stephenson, Jake Logan, Emily Logan, Will Logan, Asher Logan, Markel Fortenberry, Kiyana Fortenberry, Owen Fortenberry and Levi Fortenberry.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. The interment service and burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Carpenters Campground Methodist Church Cemetery.
