Obituary

Thelma Junie Aldridge, age 81, of Maryville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Junie was born in Englewood, Tennessee, on March 30, 1945, to the late Hoyt and Ruth Graves. A woman of deep faith, she was a dedicated, longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Friendsville. Junie spent several years working for Levi Strauss, where she shared her hard work and warm spirit with many.

Throughout her life, Junie found great joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid reader and possessed a remarkable talent for sewing. Her generous heart was reflected in the beautiful quilts she lovingly crafted for the Quilts of Valor Foundation, bringing comfort and recognition to military veterans.

In addition to her parents, Junie was preceded in death by her beloved sons, James, Larry, and Hoyt.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her loving husband, Arnold Aldridge; her daughter, Angela Delozier and husband Joseph; and a multitude of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would also like to extend a special recognition to her dear friend, Tom Ferguson, who looked at Junie as his mom, and whom Junie truly considered another son.

A service to celebrate Junie’s life will be held at a later date.
