Sam J. Compton

Compton, Sam J. age 72 of Walland passed away Monday, May 14, 2007 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a member of Keebles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Wiley and Rose Compton; brother, Woody Compton; sister, Willie Mae Looper; grandson, Shawn Everett. Survivors include wife of 53 years, Curt Compton; son, David Compton of Walland; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Denise Compton of Walland; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Robbie Everett of Walland; grandchildren, Lee and Mindi Everett, Shelley and Josh Thomas, Cora and Jodie Compton, Caleb and Sam Compton all of Walland; sister, Mable Whitehead and husband, Doyle of Maryville; sister-in-law, Betty Compton of Walland; great grandchildren, Syll Everett and Asa Thomas; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Grandview Mausoleum for the entombment.
