Robert L. (Bob) Harmon, 93, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024, surrounded by his three sons. He is preceded in death by wife Anna Mae (Waters) Harmon who, undoubtedly greeted him at the pearly gates and asked him, what took him so long to get to Heaven to be with her. Parents Maggie and George Harmon. Sisters Polly, Ellen and Ruth. Brothers Arthur, Carl and Johnny. Survived by sons Bryan, Brett (Cindy) and Neal (Dawn). Six grand kids who called him Dassie, Heather, Hillary, Hannah (Jesse), Hunter, Travis, and Adam. One great grandchild, Hudson.
Bob grew up in the Louisville area and ran all the roads between there, Friendsville and Prater Flats. He graduated from Friendsville Academy and joined the Air Force in 1951 and served until 1954 achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. He served at numerous locations in the US and two years in Germany. After returning home he went to work for Bell South where he met Anna Mae Waters. They were married in 1955 and were married for 58 years. He coached all his sons in Little League baseball and helped build the current fields used today. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family wants to thank Marsha Moore and Ida Nugent for the time they sat with him. Services will be officiated by Greg Williamson. There will be a visitation on May 21, 2024 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Smith Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment 3:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery Pavilion.
