Phyllis Ann Franklin passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. She was a longtime resident of the Oak View Community in Walland, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sally Garner; her son, Timothy Franklin; and her daughter-in-law, Robin Franklin.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Bill Franklin; her son, Jeffrey Franklin; her Goddaughter, Krissy Schotters, and her husband, Mark; her grandson, Jesse Franklin, and his wife, Sandy; her sister, Carolyn Buchanan, and her husband, Asbury; and her brother, Dennis Garner, and his wife, Ellen. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless others whose lives she touched. Among those who held a special place in her heart were her Goddaughter, Maely Weeks; her grandson, Solomon Schotters; her granddaughter, Eleanor Schotters; and her great-grandchildren, Anna Franklin and Henry Franklin.

Phyllis and Bill shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Their love story was one of unwavering commitment, filled with beautiful memories, enduring faith, and perseverance through life's joys and challenges.

Known by many cherished names, including Mom, Nana, Mamaw, and Granny, Phyllis embraced each role with unconditional love. She never let anyone leave her home hungry and was always ready to prepare a meal using fresh vegetables from the garden. Her greatest joy was caring for her family, and her life was a beautiful reflection of her deep love for God. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, hospitality, and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at Oak View Baptist Church, located at 2704 Ellejoy Road, Walland, TN 37886, on Friday, July 10, 2026. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately afterward in the church cemetery.
