Phillip Jay Griffin, age 87 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Phillip was born on February 22, 1937 in Columbia, SC to the late Louie Griffin and the late Edith Davis. Phillip was preceded in death by his wife, Greta M. Griffin; son, Richard J. Griffin; and infant daughter, Susan A. Griffin. Phillip is survived by his children, Carla Jo Summers, Nancy Harrison (Brent), Steven J. Griffin, Judith Williams; grandchildren, Janna and Josh King, Katie Griffin (Colton McNabb); Taylor and Crissi Harrison; great grandchildren, Waylon Bennett and Ronnie Harrison; daughter-in-law, Lorie Griffin; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Blanchard, Vonna Coburn; brother-in-law, Ramon Gomez; many nieces and nephews; longtime friends, Earl Colvin and Larry Brown. Phillip served his country in the Air Force and Air National Guard for 35 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Family and friends will assemble at Grandview Pavilion and Legacy Trail, 2316 Graves Rd, Maryville, TN 37803 at 1:00PM on Monday, September 23, 2024 with Jonathan Black, Associate Pastor of Southside Baptist Church officiating.
