Opal June Rogers, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2026. She was born on December 10, 1938.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Deeanna Palmer (Joe King), James Palmer (Miranda Palmer), Ashley Wisecarver (Josh Wisecarver), Walter "Bunkie" VanSkiver IV (Maleah VanSkiver), Shelby Titlow, Jamie Lopez, Dillan Jones (Corinne Jones), Amber Kitts (Jacob Kitts), and Hannah Pinkerton (Logan Pinkerton).

She was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren: Joe King, Nate King, Kenyan Palmer, Peyton VanSkiver, Kade Wisecarver, Neyland Titlow, Kasyn VanSkiver, Zoey Wisecarver, Walter "Bunkie" VanSkiver V, Summit Titlow, Willow Kitts, Asher Lopez, Rayden Pinkerton, Jude Lopez, Knoxlee Rupert, and Harper Kitts.

Opal dedicated 20+ years of service to Blount County Schools working in the cafeteria. She also faithfully served many years as the historian for the Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department, preserving memories and honoring the history of her community. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her greatest joy in life was having her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gathered around her. She loved her family deeply and unconditionally.

Opal had a strong and unwavering faith. She loved Jesus with her whole heart and lived her life as a reflection of His love through kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family.

Her family finds comfort in the promise of Revelation 21:4-5: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes... Behold, I make all things new."

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will gather at Greenback Memorial Baptist Church fellowship hall, 292 TN-95, Greenback, TN 37742 on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm for a celebration of life.
