Nancy Ellen (Luzier) Crothers, 68, formerly of Maryville, TN, passed away on July 18, 2007 in Greeneville, TN. Nancy is survived by her husband of fifty years Homer Leo Crothers, Jr.; her son Kevin Gregory Crothers and daughter-in-law Patricia Lynn (Walker) Crothers of Charleston, SC; her daughter Lori Ann Sparks and son-in-law Brian Roy Sparks of Greeneville, TN; grandchildren Lindsay Eryn Crothers, Alaina Rose Crothers, Brian Benjamin Sparks, David Christian Sparks, and Sophia Danielle Sparks; and mother-in-law Beatrice Mae McCullough of Cresaptown, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents John Theodore and Mae Florence (Elsey) Luzier of Maryville, TN and Cresaptown, Md. Nancy was born February 4, 1939 in Cumberland MD, spent her youth in Cresaptown, MD, and graduated from Allegany High School. She was a longtime pianist for Blount Christian and First Christian churches of Maryville, gave private piano lessons, and served as a volunteer for the Red Cross and literacy programs. Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 PM at Smith Trinity Chapel, Maryville, TN, on Friday, July 20, 2007 with funeral service to follow with Rev. David Reece officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. If desired, contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Christian Appalachian Project (http://www.christianapp.org), an interdenominational, non-profit Christian organization committed to serving people in need in Appalachia by providing physical, spiritual and emotional support through a wide variety of programs and services.
