Myrtle Smith Rorex, age 97, of Louisville, TN passed away July 22, 2026, at the Life Care Center of Blount County.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Joe Rorex, her parents; Hobert and Annie Smith, her brother and sister-in-law; Francis and Mildred Smith, and her brother-in-law; John Melvin Jordan.

She is survived by her sister, Hazel Jordan and several nieces and nephews.

She retired from Parks Belk Department store after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of St. Marks Global Methodist Church in Louisville since 1942.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held after at 2:00 pm with Reverend Adam Love and Reverend David Tucker officiating. Burial to follow at 3:00 pm and will be held at Magnolia Cemetery in Maryville TN.
