Myron M. Murphy

Murphy, Myron M. age 77 of Friendsville, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Johnson City. He was a member of Armona Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War and where he received a Purple Heart and a member of the VFW Knoxville Post #1733. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas & Fanny Murphy; first wife, Gladys Murphy; brother, Earl Murphy; sister, Nita Hardy. Survivors include his wife, Mary Murphy; stepson, Bob Edmonds of Knoxville; stepdaughter, Jane Henry of Maryville; step grandchild, Tina Teffeteller & husband, Richard of Maryville; 3 stepgreat-grandchildren, Dylan, Dakota & Madison; brother, Virgil Murphy of Georgia; sisters, Mary Preston of Fl, Virginia Hilbert of GA and Lavern Toivanen of GA. Funeral service 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Armona Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Lawson & Rev. Pete Koster officiating. Interment 9:00 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Highland South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday at the church.
