Myrna Jean Davis

Myrna Jean Clodfelter Davis, 96 of Alcoa, peacefully left Shannondale Maryville to meet the Lord on Saturday April 13. Myrna was born in Blount County on St. Patrick’s Day 1928, the year after her parents were transferred by ALCOA from the Badin North Carolina Operations. She was a 1946 graduate of Alcoa High School and retired in 1994 from Alcoa Electric which was known as Blount Electric System through most of her career. She has been a member of Alcoa First Methodist Church since 1942. Myrna loved traveling and quilting. She was blessed with wonderful neighbors in Alcoa and an extended church family. She enjoyed spending several months a year at the family farm in Albemarle, North Carolina where she was especially close to her first cousins and her late Aunt Kate. In the past year the residents and staff at Shannondale Maryville became her best friends. She was lovingly cared for by the staff as well as Laura Kitts and Kristen Clearman, whom she considered family. She loved the Sunday afternoon worship services at Shannondale. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. N.T. Clodfelter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Barry and Sylvia Davis of Louisville Tennessee and her beloved brother James A Clodfelter of Nashville. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:30, Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Alcoa First Methodist Church.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 6:30 PM at Alcoa First Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Green officiating.  Inurnment will be alongside several generations of her family at Stony Hill UMC Cemetery in Stanly County, North Carolina at 10:00 AM, on Monday, April 29, 2024.
