Michael David Gonyer, age 71 of Maryville, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at home. Mike was born in Tecumseh, MI on February 24, 1955 to Ronald and Mary Gonyer. He graduated in the class of 1973 from Manchester Michigan High School, earned an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies from Charis Bible College, Colorado Spring, CO in May of 2007 and was licensed to preach the gospel. Mike was married to his wife Rose on May 12, 2000. Mike received Ordination to the work of the gospel ministry in January of 2009, from Charis Bible College. Mike planted a church in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 2011 - House On The Rock Church, which is still today a vibrant body of believers. He turned the church over to his associate pastor in Jan 2022 and found a home in Maryville 2024. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Rose Gonyer; sisters, Jeanne (Mark) Baldwin, Teri (Jeff) Boegler, Rene' (Eric) Jahnke; brother, Patrick Gonyer; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Mike's main desire in life was for everyone to know Jesus and fall in love with Him and experience His love for them. A service will be announced at a later date.
