Melonie Dawn Effler, age 53 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend to all who knew her. She was their everything, and more to them than could be put on paper. Melonie was a graduate of Heritage High School, worked for Vulcan Materials, and went home to create “In the Kitchen with Momma Mel” on YouTube to bring families together around the table – reaching people around the world with almost 200,000 followers. She had a heart for people. She was always giving and never taking. Melonie is with her Jesus and happy – always and forever. She was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church where she previously taught the College & Career Class and Vacation Bible School. She is preceded in death by: grandparents, Ernie & Margaret Gibson, John & Willie McCaulley, and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include: husband of 33 years, Patrick Effler; daughters & son-in-law, Callie & Ryan Tate and Maddie Effler; parents, John & Onita McCaulley; parents-in-law, Herb & Wilma Effler; brother, Johnny & Michelle McCaulley; special nephew, J.T. McCaulley; close aunt and uncle, Gary & Sue McAlister; friend Sherry Casey; grandcat, Bennie, and a host of YouTube friends and family. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday, April 6, 2026, at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Chilhowee View Cemetery located at Pleasant View Church on Pleasant Hill Drive.
