Marshall C. Debuty

DeButy, Marshall C. "Cop" age 80 of Tallassee, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #469 and a 32 degree Mason. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and he retired from the Blount County School system maintenance department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson & Ada DeButy; brother, Warren Ray DeButy. Survivors include his daughters & sons-in-law, Virginia "Gina" & David Walters of Maryville, Theresa Sawyer of Maryville, Jeannette & Jerry Pendleton of Rockford; sister & brother-in-law, Hope & Kenneth Marine of Maryville; grandchildren & spouses, Tanya & David Sloan of Maryville, Chris & Brandy Sawyer of Seymour, Gary & Sherry Pendleton of Rockford, Jeremiah Sawyer of Maryville, Amy & Matthew Pendleton of Harrogate; great-grandchildren, Isaiah & Nevaeh Sawyer; several nieces & nephews; extra special friends, Scott & Diana DeButy, Amanda & Wendell Coada and Edna Marie Martin, and other special friends too many to mention. Funeral service 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2007, Smith Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating. Family & friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Boone Cemetery in Happy Valley for the interment with available parking at the Happy Valley Baptist Church.
