Dr. Marshal Vernon Sherles, age 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 17, 2025. Marshal was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He always had a thirst for knowledge revolving around the bible and religion. His main purpose in life was to see souls saved. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Emmanuel Baptist University after more than 35 years of ministry. Marshal founded King’s Chalice Ministries International in 2010 with ministries in India, Philippines, Africa and Pakistan. Marshal always said that when he got to heaven, all he wanted to hear was, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and his family and friends all believe that is what he heard. Marshal was a big man with a big personality that drew people to him. Marshal also served in the military. Marshal loved music and played drums his whole life. He played in many bands over time including The Funk Junkies, Sixer Six, King Chalice and Solemn Witness, among others with many great musicians. He and his wife also ran a wedding DJ business, Lionstrong Entertainment, for several years and were honored to be a part of so many new marriages. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn Sherles, son, Scott Heath, grandsons, Niko Heath and Kai Heath, sisters and brother, Edith Sherles, Anna Sullivan and Marlon Sherles and sister in-laws Mariah Kennel and Jennifer Kennel.
