Pik Hung Wong, known to most as Margaret Ling, 70, passed away on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. She was born in the country of Malaysia and immigrated to the United States in 1979. She proudly became a US Citizen in 1986. She was happily married to George Ling who was her partner and soul mate in life for 48 years.
Margaret is survived by her husband George, three children: Catherine (Chris) Johnson of Oak Ridge, TN, Kelvin (Annie) Ling of Jacksonville, FL, Shubin (Rebecca) Ling of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren: Maddox, Cayden, Grayson, Bennett, Callen, Harris, Ellie; Brothers, Law Khing Nging and Wong Hieng Chhiung; Sister, Law Pik Ngik of Malaysia; and numerous other loved ones.
George and Margaret have been residents of Maryville for over 35 years. They owned local restaurant, China Town, for 20 years. Through the 20 years, many lifelong friends and relationships were created and cherished. She touched many lives with her generosity, desire to help others, and the need to make sure everyone was well fed.
Margaret’s biggest passion was her family. Her joy was achieved through the happiness of her loved ones, especially her children and grandchildren. There was always a smile on her face when she was with family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Monday, November 6th at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service located at 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803. Family will receive friends from 12-2pm. Funeral service will follow at 2pm and Entombment at 3pm at Grandview Cemetery.
