Lula Dee Waters

Lula Dee Waters, 97, of Maryville, TN concluded her earthly journey on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She lived a loving, caring and dedicated life to her family. She was married for 63 years to Horace Vineyard Waters who passed away in 2013. She was a loyal, longtime member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Maryville. She embodied Christ’s love as a lifelong caregiver; she loved gardening, flowers, reading her Bible faithfully and watching her grandsons play baseball. Preceded in death by father and mother George and Annie Mae Anderson, brothers-in-law, William and Marie Waters, George (Junior) Anderson, Alvin and Marie Waters and Bobby Waters. She leaves sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Lynn Waters, Mark and Mary Waters; grandchildren, Brian and Susanna Waters and Nathan Waters. Great grandchildren, Audrey, Christopher and Anna Waters. Brother, John Herdy Anderson and sister, Barbara (Bobbie) and Ted Mathis; sister-in-law, Carol and Charlie Byerly, Judy Waters and Jackie Anderson, along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank special care friends: Jane Howe, Charlsey Page, Angela Forester, Susan Corso, Melissa Cooper, Carolyn, Vivian and Jan. A viewing and register signing will be available at Smiths Funeral Home on Sunday, the 21st between 1:00 and 5:00pm. A graveside service and interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Alcoa Highway on Monday, September 22 at 3:00 pm.
