Louise Patty (née Barr), aged 97, passed away on August 21, 2024, in Maryville, TN.
Born on April 16, 1927, in Florence, AL, Louise lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and a wonderful sense of humor.
Louise was the beloved wife of the late Joe Patty and a caring mother to her children, including her late daughter Sandra Costner and late son Jerry Patty. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Hodge, and a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
Known for her generosity and loving nature, Louise was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, bird watching, and spending time with her family. Her love for animals was profound, leading her to rescue several animals throughout her life. Louise also had a passion for dolphin watching, which reflected her deep appreciation for nature.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her children Sandra and Jerry, and her brothers Sonny and Richard Barr, as well as her grandson Ken Henderson. Her life was a testament to the love she shared and the lives she touched.
Her memory will be cherished by her family, including her granddaughters Helen Costner, Kelly Wheeler (David), Kimberly Henderson, and Jacqueline Patty; grandsons Chris Costner (Robin Johnson-Costner) and Joseph Patty (Roberta); great-grandchildren David M. Wheeler, Brandon Wheeler, Karyth Henderson, Karlee Traylor (Austin), and Katie Henderson; and her great-great-grandson Watson Traylor. Louise also leaves behind her niece Lori Barr (Steve Dent), great-nephew Richard Dent, and numerous other relatives.
Louise Patty's warmth and spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her kindness and legacy will continue to inspire those she loved.
