Linda Faye Julian, age 82, of Friendsville , Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2025.

Born and raised in Old Hickory, Tennessee, Linda was a proud and devoted daughter, sister, mother, and friend. In 1975, Linda enlisted in the Tennessee Air National Guard, 134th Air Refueling Wing, where she worked as a dental specialist. She dedicated herself to a life of honor and service. Through hard work and unwavering commitment, she rose to the rank of Master Sergeant. During her career, she earned numerous prestigious awards, including:

  • Air Force Commendation Medal
  • Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal
  • Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon
  • Air Force Training Ribbon
  • Armed Forces Reserve Medal
  • National Defense Service Medal
  • Air Force Outstanding Unit Award
  • 1987 Air National Outstanding Medical Corps 
  • Airman of the Year

Linda also served her country with distinction during Operation Desert Storm/Shield demonstrating her dedication in a time of great need. In 2002 she retired from the Air National Guard after 27 years of service.

Linda’s life was marked by her bold, spunky, and sassy spirit. She was known for speaking her mind with honesty and humor, bringing joy to all who knew her. After her retirement from the military, she continued to serve her community through the Junior Service League in Blount County. She was passionately involved in charitable causes, including Toys for Tots and delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels program in Blount County, touching countless lives with her kindness.

Linda was a member of the Garden Club, where her creativity earned her several awards. She loved gardening and spending time in her yard where her green thumb brought beauty to everything she touched. She found peace and joy fishing at the lake and spending time with her beloved pets. She enjoyed every moment spent outdoors.

As the matriarch of her family, Linda took pride in hosting family gatherings, creating a warm and loving environment for all. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones, and her presence brought comfort and joy to everyone.

Preceding her in death were: loving husband Richard Julian; parents Allie Grissom Midgett and Chelcer Dale Midgett; her aunt, Gladys David; her beloved sister, Brenda Robinson; her brother, Billy Midgett and her nephew, Troy Sawvell.

Linda is survived by her loving family: daughters, Valissa Lane (husband Warren) and Bronwyn Ashley (husband Deny); her son, Charlie Bock (significant other Tina Yeaman); her grandchildren Logan DePalmer, Griffin Lane, and Brady Ashley; her niece, Dana Loggins; her nephew Michael Midgett; great-niece and nephew Radley and Lindsey Loggins; her great, great niece Maisie Kay and her lifelong friends, Judy Haven and Sally Jones.

Linda’s love for her family, her passion for serving others, and her unwavering dedication to her faith and country defined her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Services will be held at Smith’s Life and Legacy- 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN on Saturday, January 18th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life.

May Linda rest in peace, embraced by her Savior and reunited with those who went before her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
