Obituary

Linda Lea Isbill, born on October 22, 1940, peacefully passed away at home on June 8, 2026. Her life was marked by deep dedication to her family, adventurous spirit, and warm generosity that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her beloved spouse of 39 years, Fred Isbill, who stood by her side through countless cherished moments. She was a devoted mother to Kim McBath (spouse Terry), Pam Temple (spouse Randy), and Jeff Harrison (spouse Judy). Linda’s family extended further to include her step-children Michael Isbill (spouse Susan) and Candace Hicks (spouse Kenny). She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren Maranda Brown (spouse Jeff), Matthew McBath (spouse Sarah), Megan Householder (spouse Aaron), Chelsea Temple (partner Miller Himelright), Briana McDaniel (spouse Joshua), Brooke Temple, Tanner Harrison (spouse Wendy), Lucas Isbill, Zachary Hicks, and Riley Hicks. Linda was a great-grandmother to Madelyn, Maleah, Caedmon, and Avery Coulter, Jackson and Liam McBath, Sadie Householder, Logan McDaniel, Luna Himelright, and Greyson Hicks.

Her family remembers the many important events Linda made special through her presence and care: welcoming the birth of grandchildren, cheering at their basketball, soccer, and swimming games, celebrating their musical concerts, and supporting their church musicals. These moments remain treasured memories, reflecting the heart she always shared with those she loved.

Linda’s adventurous nature took her across all 50 U.S. states, as well as to Canada, Ireland, England, and Italy. One of her most unforgettable experiences was flying in an open cockpit biplane in Wisconsin a testament to her spirited embrace of life’s opportunities. Closer to home, Linda delighted in baking for her family, generously sharing cookies, brownies, cakes, pies, and especially her family’s favorite treat, Congo Squares.

Among Linda’s lifelong friends were Doris Cuthbertson Bianucci and Edna Walker, who shared many years of companionship and mutual support.

The family extends their gratitude to Prisma Hospice nurses and caregivers Angela Forrester, Becky Jenkins, Sherry Riley, and Wynn Turner, whose compassion and care allowed Linda’s final journey to be peaceful and dignified.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 25 at Oakland United Methodist Church in Greenback, Tennessee. Friends and family are invited for visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m., with the service commencing at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Oakland United Methodist Church, 234 Trigonia Road, Greenback, TN 37742-2046.
