Linda Gail Finney, née Hunley, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 26, 1943 and died in Knoxville on May 16, 2026. She was 82 years old. She was married to Raymond Finney, who passed away on March 15, for over 64 years. Her parents were Nannie Belle Allen and Conley Edward Hunley of Knoxville. She has four living sisters: Laura McLain of Knoxville; Carol Atkins of Helena, Alabama; Rosemary Kappelman of Bristol; and Frances Powers of Powell. She was the devoted mother of four children, Deborah Sosna, Charles (Rebecca), and John, all of Knoxville, and Raymond, III (now deceased). She also was blessed with two grandchildren, Alex Sosna (Zaina) of Knoxville, and Taylor Sosna of Miami, Florida. Linda went to her grave thankful for all the kindnesses and blessings shown to her by her family, community, and God. She gave tirelessly of herself in service to the community, volunteering in countless endeavors to improve the physical and spiritual wellbeing of others. An avid reader, Linda was also a dedicated gardener and bird watcher. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 26th at Smith Funeral Trinity Chapel. A service will follow at 2:00pm with Rabbi Michael Weiner officiating. Family and friends will assemble for entombment Wednesday, May 27th at 9:00am at Grandview Mausoleum.
