Larry Earl Wilburn Sr., age 78, of Maryville went to sleep in his Saviors arms on January 4, 2026. He was born March 7, 1947. He died from complications while battling Cancer. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Larry was a loving caring husband, dad, father-in-law and papaw. Larry worked in the HVAC field since he was 17. He started his own business in 1978 with a few hundred dollars in his pocket and built a successful company Wilburn Quality Heat and A/C with loyal clientele and contractors. He loved his customers as friends and family. Larry was known for his honesty and hard work and was loved by all who knew him. He had a big heart and found his purpose in helping others. Whether it was opening his home to those in need or offering them a job, he served faithfully. While his hands built and cared for homes here below his life was quietly shaping an eternal home above. He was a role model for not only his own family but to many people throughout his life. His legacy of faith, kindness and selfless love will live on through all who knew him. He enjoyed his sports cars, refinishing old cars and Chevy Trucks, fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker and very dedicated to his family, friends and business. He will be so sadly missed by his family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by: parents, Howard and Maude Wilburn; sisters, Helen Millsapps (Elmer), Pearl Keller (Doyle), Lavada Jackson (Doug), Gearldine Rogers (Pete); brother, Jackie Wilburn, Howard Wilburn Jr.; brothers-in-law, Charles Ratledge, Bill Hollingsworth and Gerald Blitz. Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Daisy Buchanan Wilburn; son, Larry (BO) Wilburn Jr. (Laurie); daughters, Lori Byrd (Ray) and Angie Byrd (Danny); grandchildren, Jeremy Young, Alexa Loftis (Josh), Jenna Wilburn, Bailey Jones (Tanner), Gracie Greene (Zach) and Ty Wilburn; great grandchildren, Alayla Loftis, Levi Wilburn, Parker Fields, Emma Jones, Jackson Loftis and Baby Greene; sisters, Shirley Ratledge, Patsy Blitz, Susie Castro; and sister-in-law, Judy Wilburn; nieces, nephews and many other family and friends also survive. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2026 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM with Rev. Ronnie Inman and Rev. Darrell Millsaps officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Grandview Cemetery.
