Katherine "Kat" Ann Jones, 64, of Blount County, passed away peacefully June 1, 2026, after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family at home. Born in Senori, TN. She was a devout Christian and member of Six Mile Missionary Baptist Church and a dedicated server for the Cracker Barrel company with nearly 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her father, James Lewis Wayland and her mother, Agnes Mae Shults Wayland. She is survived by her son, Wayland Lee (Cindie) Jones of Seymour, TN; her daughter, Kristin Mae (Michael McNutt) Black of Knoxville, TN; her precious flower (granddaughter), DaisyAnn Aleen Black and little M&M (grandson), Marcus Charles McNutt. Other survivors include several aunts and uncles, a gaggle of cousins, her Cracker Barrel regulars and all her adopted 'work kiddos'.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nathan Shrock, and his staff at UT Oncology; Dr. Maikel Botros and his staff at Blount Radiation Oncology and UT Medical Hospice Services for all their dedication and assistance through Katherine's Cancer Battle.

Katherine has requested cremation. The family will receive friends and family on at Smith Funeral & Cremation Services in Maryville, TN. A gathering for family and friends will be held on June 20th, 2026, at Smith Funeral and Cremation's Trinity chapel from 1PM-3PM. Other services will be announced at a later date
