Bill Odom age 84 of Maryville TN passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, peacefully in his family home. He was Born March 29 1941 in Red Level, AL. He is the son of Maston "Popper" Odom and Nancy Louannie "Lula" Morris Odom. Bill graduated from Red Level High School (Red Level, AL) in 1959 as Valedictorian and Star football player. He then attended the university of Tennessee on a football scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He met his wife Wanda K. Odom at UT. They were married in 1963 in Lafayette, GA; and they made Maryville TN their home. They just celebrated 62 years of marriage on February 23rd this year. Bill spent his life working in the construction industry and built a successful contracting business along with his children spanning over 40 years. He also had a great love of the outdoors: gardening, hunting, and fishing were his favorites, and his stories were many and colorful. He especially loved his time spent fishing on Weiss Lake, AL. He also had a great love for his church and his God and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years at Madison Ave Baptist Church. His kindness and generosity touched countless people, and he treasured spending time with his grandchildren and his Alabama family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Wanda K. Odom; sister Jewell Craig (spouse Elbert): children Melinda Sands (spouse David), William Odom (spouse Amy), Daniel Odom (spouse Marcela); daughter in law Valerie Odom. Grandchildren Jeremy Sands (spouse Kalie). Nathan Odom (spouse Nikki). Amber Odom. Ryan Odom. Connor Odom. Savannah Odom. Three beautiful great-granddaughters: Ellie, Evie and newborn Emmie Sands. And many other nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends, and his two brothers-in-law. He is preceded in death by his parents Maston and Lula Odom; brothers Aubrey, Elvin, James, sisters Viola, Carrie, Annie Lee, Susie, and Loree. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm in the Smith West Chapel with Dr. Glenn Cummings. Family will assemble for interment at Grandview Cemetery on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 11:00 am.
