Dear friends of Juanita "Nina" Poling, Juanita has slipped away after her long battle with
Alzheimer's.
Juanita was a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother,
devoted wife, hairdresser, realtor, friend and a fantastic cook! She and her husband always
said they worked hard, played hard, fought hard, and loved harder.
Juanita had boundless energy and loved the beach. She loved the sand under her toes
while walking with anyone and her many favorite dogs. Juanita would agree that, "We are
tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are
going back from whence we came." - John F. Kennedy
Much like the ocean, grief comes in waves. We ask those that knew her to please take a
moment to revisit a fond memory of Juanita and keep it as long as you can.
Juanita's illness may have robbed her of her memories, but it will not take away our
memories of her.
The family respectfully requests donations to Alzheimer's research in lieu of flowers.
