Joseph Owen Antosiak, age 77 of Maryville. Joe was a man who loved to laugh. He really enjoyed a good pun. He was a devoted pet parent to our greyhounds and cats. Joe was an amazing husband, generous and caring. He was retired from both the Department of Defense and the Army and Army National Guard with 30 years in each. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree and was a Department of Defense analyst. He was a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in the National Guard until retirement as well as a Vietnam veteran. Joe is a man who loved The Lord, his family and friends, and our country. He received many awards for outstanding service to the Department of Defense, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Defense medal. He taught his skills to other DOD employees in classes at Fort Meade, MD. He was someone who helped others in need and was certain in his Christian faith. Joe had a lifetime love of trains, particularly steam engines, from the tourist railroads we rode, to small model railroads. We enjoyed many trips riding through all manner of beautiful places in many states pulled by a restored steam engine. Joe died unexpectedly on August 2, 2025 of a sudden cardiac arrest. My heart is heavy but I am so grateful for every day I was granted with this wonderful man.
