Johnnie Blackburn

Blackburn, Johnnie Bettis, age 93 of Maryville, died at 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Asbury Place Health Care Center Maryville. Johnnie was born and raised in Jefferson County. She was a 60-year member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and a retired clerk in the Blount County Court Clerk's Office serving there for 28 years. Preceded in death by: Husband, John K. Blackburn; Parents, Samuel Oliver and Maude Rae Bettis; Brothers, Guy, Rue, Robert and Walter; Sisters, Ina Bettis and Elsie Northern. Survivors include: Son and Daughter-in-law, John Wallace & Faye Blackburn; Grandson, Ashley Alton Blackburn all of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews. Private burial will be Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Asbury Chaplain Melody Kidd officiating. Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2007 at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Dr. James Moorhead, Rev. Paul McNiel, and Rev. Steve Musick officiating. The family will receive friends in Westminister Hall following the service.
