John P. Jones, Jr.

November 13, 1919 — May 8, 2006

Mr. John P. Jones Jr. went to be with the Lord at 16:45 May 8, 2006. He was formerly of Greenwich, CT and Scarsdale, NY before moving to Maryville five years ago. He will best be remembered for his brilliant golf game, engineering genius, ability to grow a beautiful lawn on East Tennessee clay, enduring youthfulness, and dedication to his family. He was always thinking of others. He is survived by his wife, Jane Ennis Jones; his sister, Dorothy Watson and husband Jim of Wyckof, New Jersey, his brother Richard Jones and wife Dorothy of Tulsa, OK, his children and their spouses, Jim and Ginger Jones of South Salem, NY, Jane and Zac Charon of Radford, VA, Drs. Donald and Susan Jones of Maryville, TN, and Lorie and Dick McDonnell of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren, Dr. Paul Daniel Jones, Greg Jones, Catie Jones, Stacey McCormack, Amy Mabry, David Charon, Sarah Charon, Michael Charon, Philip Jones, Mark Jones, Charlie Jones, John Mcdonnell, James McDonnell, Julia McDonnell; Great Grandchildren, Kathrine McCormack, Brent Mabry and Reece Mabry; Special Nephews, Gordon Jones of Charlotte, NC, Rob Jones of Dallas, TX, and Scott Sheehan of Houston, TX. Receiving of friends will be at Smith Mortuary Wednesday, May 10, 2006 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at New Providence Presbyterian Church, Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 1:00 PM with Dr. Emily Anderson presiding to be followed by a graveside ceremony.
