Joe Tipton, Jr.

Joe Tipton, Jr., age 62 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023 at his home. Joe was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church where he was a trustee and an audio/visual technician. He worked at the City of Maryville for 35 years. Joe loved hunting, raising his chickens, and helping people. Preceded in death by father, Joe Tipton, Sr.; sisters, Mona Lisa Tipton, Loretta Adams; bonus daughter, Deanna Jones; parents-in-law, Conard and Jean Hill; brothers-in-law, Jerry Hill, Bill Keith; best friends, Carl and Sandy Bowers. Survived by wife of 43 years, Sarah Hill Tipton; sons, Joseph Russell Tipton, Dennis Leon Word (Kim); 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother, Beulah Tipton; brothers, Lester Tipton, Boyd Tipton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lone Oak Church Christmas Fund, 831 W Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Maryville, TN 37801. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Monday, July 10, 2023 at Lone Oak Baptist Church. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Delbert Raines and Rev.
