Jo Ann Hatcher

Jo Ann Hatcher, age 85, passed away after a short physical illness as well as a long-term decline from Alzheimer's Disease on December 8, 2023, with her family at her side.  Jo Ann was born in Maryville, Tennessee, and graduated Everett High School in 1956.  Jo Ann married her love, Wade, the same year and joined him in running a family business until his passing in 1992.  After that time, she valiantly continued on and was successful in her own right.  Jo Ann immensely enjoyed family vacations, attending Gaither events with her “crew”, and just any situation where she could talk and laugh with people.  Preceded in death by husband, Wade H. Hatcher; son, Wade, Jr. (“Butch”); parents, Randle & Beatrice Henderson; sister, Patsy Stiles; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Peggy Henderson; nieces, Marcia Long and Teresa Burns.  Survived by daughter, Sheri Hatcher; brother-in-law, Herm Stiles; grandson, Billy Cowden (Jenny); several much-loved nieces and nephews and their families; those-who-became-family, Jim & Evelyn Henry and Preston Leingang, Jr.; and her devoted furball, Andy.  Special appreciation is given to the caregivers at Brookdale Sandy Springs for the tremendous care and support they gave Jo Ann over the past few years as well as to the many residents with whom she enjoyed sharing their lives, stories, and many smiles and much laughter.  The family will receive friends and share stories from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Smith Funeral & Cremation and will meet at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023.  In lieu of flowers, if you desire, please donate in Jo Ann's name to the Alzheimer's organization of your choice.
