Jimmy Norton Peterson Jr. passed away peacefully after an extended period of illness and went home to be with his heavenly father at the age of 67. He was born on March 23, 1959, and passed away on April 24, 2026. Jimmy worked in several capacities during his life, but he most liked being outside hunting and fishing.

After retirement, he moved to Maryville, TN to be with his parents and to assist them as they progressed into their later years. He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Allen and his father Jimmy Norton Peterson, Sr. Survivors include: his mother, Alma June Boring Peterson and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as his friend and caregiver Heather Denson, who assisted in his needs towards the end of his life. visitation will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM with a service to follow at 6:00 PM at the Smith Funeral and Cremation Trinity Chapel with Rev. Greg Long officiating.
