Heaven gained it’s best Sawyer & Logger on Monday August 11, 2025 at the age of 83. Jim L. Bivens built a business that runs generations deep. He loved to wheel and deal in timber and land deals. Daddy would go on the hunt for a log not knowing the exact location but say when he got out in the woods, he could “smell it” and locate it- He actually did that! He was simple and larger than life. He was the provider, protector and foundation of his family. The wisdom and guidance he gave was unmatched. You could always count on a good cowboy and western to be on the TV when you came in. He will be forever missed. He was the real life Marlboro Man and our Hero.
He is preceded in death by his wife Violet Bivens and Survived by children, John C. Bivens, Pamela A. Bivens, James A. Bivens & wife Jackie, Sherry D. Isbill, Wesley O. Bivens, Mandy B. Street & husband Brandon, Hector Bivens. Grandchildren, Natalie Hawkins, Heather Bivens, Jordan Grubb, Julianne Bivens, Brittany Bivens, Daniel Bivens, Haley Bivens, Kyler Bivens, Boone Street & Brody Street. Brothers, Bob Bivens & Elzie Bivens and many great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the Smith Trinity Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Mark Grubb officiating.
