IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey Lynn
Finley
August 5, 1967 – February 13, 2026
Jeffrey “Jeff” Lynn Finley, 58, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous four-year journey after suffering a massive stroke.
Jeff was a devoted son, proud father, grandfather, and friend. He had a deep love for sports, especially the University of Tennessee. His passion for the Tennessee Volunteers was more than a hobby—it was part of who he was. Outside of his full-time career with Hill's Pet Nutrition, Jeff became a familiar and beloved presence on the sidelines at Tennessee football home games and other university sporting events. For over 15 years, he faithfully served as security, known affectionately by many as the “big, bald guy." He took great pride in supporting the teams and helping ensure the safety of fans and players alike. Jeff’s strength, passion, and kindness were unmatched. He faced life’s challenges with determination and courage, inspiring those around him with his resilience and tireless work ethic.
He is survived by his loving parents, Ronnie and Shirley Finley; his daughters, Maegan Helton and husband Chase, and Haley Gordon and husband Ben; and his cherished grandchildren, Easton, Charli, and Tripp, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his best friend and “brother,” Eric Davis and wife Jennifer; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews; and his special caregivers, Laurie Stickney, Dianne Moore, and Ananda Shipman, whose compassion and dedication meant so much to Jeff and his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Juanita Finley, and Ishmael and Vadie Jenkins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28, at Smith Funeral Home in Maryville, TN, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. In honor of Jeff’s love and dedication to the Tennessee Volunteers, the family invites all who attend to wear orange.
