Janice Lynn Boring Braun, of Maryville, TN, was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1949. She went to her heavenly home on January 4th, 2023, after an extended illness. Janice graduated from Lanier High School in 1967 and was a member of Fairview Methodist Church for 41 years.

Janice is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lawrence James (Jim) Braun, Son Christopher Braun; Estranged daughter April Braun Hurley; Brothers Don Boring of Maryville and Larry Boring (Linda Ingram) of Murfreesboro; Sisters, Laverne Copenhaver of Ooltewah, Brenda (Jim) Jordan of Charleston, TN & the greatest joys of her life, her grandchildren, Maverick, Dallas and Brooklyn Hurley, who called her Mimi. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Janice was preceded in death by: her parents, Glenn Boring and Maxine Boring Mann; stepfather, James Mann; grandparents, Alexander and Jennie Medlin; sister and brother-in-law, Glennis and Al Ball; brother-in-law, Jim Copenhaver and sister-in-law, Francis Boring.

Janice first worked for the White Stores. She also worked for First Federal for several years and retired from Maryville College as the Athletic Department Office Manager.

In Janice’s earlier years, she liked walking and hiking. She also enjoyed getaways to Orange Beach, AL with her two sisters where eating lots of seafood was part of their agenda. Another pleasure was playing cards and dominos with her many friends and family. During her illness, she loved having her precious cat, Misty, by her side. Most of all, she loved being a wife, mother, and Mimi to her beloved grandchildren. She adored her beautiful grandchildren and her most precious times were spent with them.

Janice loved her many family and friends beyond measure. She was kind, sweet and gentle; an “Angel” in our eyes. She will be sadly missed by us all. Our precious memories of her will live on until we see her again in Heaven.
