James Arnold Morgan

Arnold Morgan, 83, of Covington, VA, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025.

He was born on April 20, 1942, in Ronceverte, WV, the son of James and Virginia Morgan.

He graduated from Greenbrier High School, after which he obtained his chemical engineering degree from West Virginia Tech.

He then pursued a career in industry as an engineer working for several companies beginning with Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, WV, and eventually with Westvaco in Covington, VA. He eventually started a successful consulting business from which he retired. He was passionate about gardening and cooking and excelled at both.

He was a founding member and pastor of Mountain View Primitive Baptist in Ronceverte, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his sister, Arlene Bradley; and brother, J Thomas Morgan.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Lois Morgan, he is survived by brother, Edsel and wife, Wanda Morgan, of Ronceverte; sister-in-law, Lucy Morgan of California, MD; son, Eric and wife, Tonja Morgan, of Maryville, TN; son, Randy and wife, Staci Morgan, of Covington, VA; grandchildren, Holly Morgan, Emili and husband, Jason Dew, Shawn and wife, Ashley Morgan, and Addison Morgan; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Ellie Morgan.

There will be no immediate service held. A celebration of life service will be held in the spring.
