Hoke Arnold Davenport

Davenport, Hoke Arnold, age 99 of Maryville passed away August 30, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born October 3, 1906 in Blue Ridge, Georgia and was a former resident of Lawrence County, TN. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines and an active member in years past of Unitia Masonic Lodge #295. He was also a member of Laurel Bank Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: First wife, Docia L. Beecham Davenport; Daughter, Reba Jane Bailey; Stepson, Donn Melton. Survivors include: Wife, Louise Melton Davenport; Children, John W. Davenport & wife Bessie of Kingston, TN, Marilyn D. Stoutt and husband Jimmy L. of Maryville, Thelma A. McKeehan and husband Denton of Maryville; Step Children, Gary & Becky Melton and Jane & James Williams; Grandchildren, Connie Weaver, Tonya Brown, Lysia Vaught, Brent McKeehan, Craig McKeehan, Laura Tyler, John Davenport, Pamela Woody, Dan Davenport, Sandra Rich, Lee Bailey, and Jackson Bailey; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; Son-in-law, Charles Bailey & wife JoAnn; Sisters-in-law, Victoria M. Durham of Chattanooga and Easta H. Beecham of Leoma, TN; lots of close and wonderful friends. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Smith Mortuary with Dr. Charles Bailey and Rev. Chuck Young officiating.
