Herbert William Gebhardt

Herbert William Gebhardt age 86 of Maryville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from Robert Shaw Controls and was an avid soccer and hockey fan. Herbert was a P.O.W during World War II as a Merchant Marine. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by: Parents, Wilhelm and Mathilde Gebhard; Grandson, Eli William Gebhardt. Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law, Jeff and Wendy Gebhardt of Goodlettsville and TSgt. Eric & Natalie Gebhardt of Panama City, FL; Daughter & Son-in-law, Susan & Scott Miller of Maryville; Grandchildren, Megan, Brandon and Chelsey Gebhardt, Noah & Kylie Dulin, Sara & Emily Miller, Andrew Rouse, Bryanna & Emma Gebhardt; Former Spouse, Rebecca Carpenter of Maryville; Brother & Sister-in-law, Friedhelm & Anneleise Gebhard of Germany. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Brian Crisp officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel.
