Henry “Van” Webb, age 89, of Townsend passed away early Sunday, July 20, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Bette June (Skidmore); daughter Vanessa (Wade); son Ashley (Pauline); sister June Beaver; granddaughters Sarah, Taylor, and Katheryn; brother-in-law Richard Skidmore; sister-in-law Patricia Skidmore; and several nieces and nephews. Van was preceded in death by his parents Dillard and Amanda (Dorsey) Webb; and several brothers and sisters.Van was a lifelong resident of Townsend, graduating from Townsend High School in 1954. He began his working life at Tennessee Textile, the forerunner to Levi-Strauss and Co., in Maryville in 1954. Van retired from a long and successful career at Levi's in Maryville and Knoxville in 1997. Van was an avid hunter, loved to raise calves, and was never happier than when he was on his John Deere tractor. Family and friends will assemble for a graveside service at 11:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Hepperly officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Children's hospital at www.shrinerschildren.org. Friends may call at their convenience from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm through Thursday.
