Harold Eugene Berry, age 93, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Prisma Health Blount Memorial Hospital.

Born in Townsend, Tennessee, Harold dedicated more than 39 years of his life to military service. He proudly served on active duty in the United States Army as a tanker with the 25th Reconnaissance Company before continuing his distinguished career in the United States Army Reserve. He retired in 1992 with the rank of Command Sergeant Major.

Harold was a faithful member of Grandview Baptist Church, an Accepted Free Mason with Unitia Lodge No. 295, and a devoted Scoutmaster for Eagleton Troop 84, where he mentored and guided young men for more than 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Joyce Berry; his parents, George A. and Annie Berry; his son, Bradlee Berry; and his brothers, Jack A. Berry and Melvin M. Berry.

Harold is survived by his son, Douglas Berry; granddaughter, Celine Sikes and husband, Nicholas; and great-granddaughter, Lily Sikes.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Harold’s honor to New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center.
