Gracene Byerly Hopper

Gracene B. Hopper, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 16, 2023, gaining her eternal home in heaven with Christ.  She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, and also regularly attended services at Tuckaleechee Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a retired lab technician from Blount Memorial Hospital.  She loved her Lord, reading, playing the piano & dulcimer, & growing a large variety of beautiful flowers.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene & Gertrude Byerly, brother Mac Byerly, husbands Bruce J. Cottrell, Howard Conar, & Rev. J. W. Hopper, granddaughter, Melissa Milton, and daughter-in-law, Joyce Cottrell.  Loving mother to Steve Cottrell & Vickie Robbins. Loving grandmother to Stephanie Martin (Brian), Robbie Cottrell, April Gifford, & Tony Trenham, 9 great-grandchildren, & 13 great great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in the Smith Trinity Chapel.  The service will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. John Lowe and Rev.
