Gordon C. Brooks, Sr.

Brooks, Sr., Gordon C. of Maryville passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from US Steel Corporation after 44 years of service. He was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church and a former member of Borth Park Baptist Church in Allison Park, AL. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy B. Brooks. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Gordon Jr. and Linda Brooks of Maryville; daughter, Barbara Kay Brooks of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Lisa Salser, Paul Leusch, Ingrid Weigand, Justin Leusch, Hillary Leusch, Tim Brooks, Tony Brooks, Danny Gipson, Kenny Gipson; nine great grandchildren, Beth Salser, Cole Weigand, Blake Brooks, Brandon Salser, Autumn Gipson, Addie Luke, Jimmy Luke, Taryn Brooks, Kaleb Gipson; six special grandchildren of the heart, Caroline Chantz, Jonathan Chantz, Melissa Chantz, Emily Chantz, Samantha Chantz, Jimmy Chantz. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Ted Witchen officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 in the East Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
