Glenn Franklin

June 19, 1951 — June 23, 2023

Maryville

Glenn Edward Franklin of Maryville was surrounded by family as he passed away on June 23rd, 2023. Glenn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Big Brother, and friend. He is preceded in death by his mother Ruth Whitt, his step-father Walter Whitt, his wife of many years Katie Franklin, His children Dobie and Tony Morgan, Grandchildren Conner Webb, and Daniel Perez, and Great Grandchild Cameron Perez. He is survived by his children, twin daughters Missy (Justin) Boone & Misty (David) Webb, Daughter Maria (Javier “Yenko”) Perez, Son Pat (Alaina) Bailey, and Son Jimbo Morgan. Glenn was known as “Papaw” to all 16 of his grandchildren, and his 3 great-grandchildren. He was the most wonderful big brother to Ritta (Steve) Mullins, Kathy (Rick) Ellis and Patricia (Danelo) Villegas. Glenn was blessed with a loving girlfriend in his final years, Ann Summar. The family would also like to recognize Glenn’s lifelong friends Steve Ogle, Al Linart and Hermon Goddard, with whom he spent many of his best years. Glenn loved nothing more than his family and looked for any opportunity to share a memory with them. His beautiful twin girls were his pride and joy, and he made it very clear that they were his purpose. The love that he showed all of his children proved that he was the man he didn’t have to be. He was known for his kind heart and willingness to give and help anyone who needed it. He never missed a chance to show his “big kid” personality and enjoyed bringing laughter to those around him. He was who he was, and didn’t care who was watching. His hard work can be seen all across the southeast where he spent many years teaching the value of hard work to many that looked up to him. Services will be held Wednesday, June 28th at Smith’s Funeral and Cremation Services in Maryville, receiving of friends will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM Funeral immediately to follow. Graveside services will follow in Clarks Grove Cemetery Thursday June 29th at 11:00 A.M.
