Gladys Tipton Reed

Gladys Tipton Reed, age 96, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Born on August 6, 1927, in Cades Cove to Mike and Mary Tipton, Gladys lived in the Cove until it became a national park.  Married to Clifford Reed, Gladys and Cliff lived in Indiana until her retirement from the telephone company, at which time they returned to Blount County. She was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church. Gladys is preceded in death by her loving husband: Cliff; Brothers: Carson Tipton, Mike Tipton, and Hugh Tipton; Sisters: Clara Myers, Grace Boling, and Eunice Reed.  She is survived by Sister-in-law: Thelma Tipton; Brother-in-law: W.T. Reed; Brother: Bruce (Sue) Tipton; several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will assemble at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2025 at Piney Level Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside service and interment with the Rev.
